Legacy Giving

The Tappan Society

Legacy for the Congregational Library & Archives

Established in memory of two great financial benefactors with a passion for social justice. In the 1840s and 1850s merchants Arthur and Lewis Tappan represented the best of the Congregational tradition, funding the work of abolitionists and personally sponsoring the rescue of Amistad captives in 1841. There are several ways that you can plan for the Congregational Library & Archives' future by naming us in your will with a bequest or through other avenues that can provide income for you or a loved one.

Bequests

Including The American Congregational Association in your estate plan through a bequest helps guarantee our continued outreach to promote and sustain a shared tradition. Bequests such as a gift of a specific sum of money, stocks or bonds or a particular piece of property can provide significant future resources for The Congregational Library & Archives. Another option is to leave a percentage of your estate or the residue to us after making provisions for family and friends.

Other planned giving

Other forms of planned giving can provide you with income. They include gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts and pooled income funds. You can support The Congregational Library & Archives by participating in these and other programs administered by The United Church of Christ Financial Development Ministry.

Please consider leaving a legacy to the Congregational Library & Archives.
