Archives Behind the Scenes:
The Historic Connecticut Conference Collection Project
Anne Woodrum
Monday, December 15, 2025 | 12-1 pm EST | Hybrid
The Congregational Library & Archives recently added over 150 linear feet of material from the Historic Connecticut Conference. The collection was given to the CLA by the Southern New England Conference, UCC (SNEUCC) and supported by grants from the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation, the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation, and the Missionary Society of Connecticut.
The collection documents three hundred years of religious, cultural, and social history from across Connecticut, the country, and the world, but has been privately held, disorganized, and largely inaccessible to researchers until recently.
In this hybrid lunch and learn program, Historic Connecticut Collection Project Archivist Anne Woodrum will talk about the work she began in July 2025 under the guidance of Archivist Billy McCarthy with the goal of processing the material into a completed finding aid. Anne will look back on the first six months of her work to share takeaways from her initial processing plan, showcase interesting highlights from the collection, and discuss how she plans to spend the next six months processing these unbelievably valuable records.
This event is free and open to all, but registration is required by Thursday, December 11th. There are a limited number of seats for the in-person presentation at 14 Beacon Street. The talk will also be livestreamed on Zoom.
