Library Hours Updates

Hours of Operation

As of June 2, 2008, the library is open during the following hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday

9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Wednesday

9:00 AM – 6:00 PM


Closings

Monday, September 8th

The reading room will be closed to the public after 4:00 PM for our quarterly board meeting.

Monday, October 13th

The library will be closed for Columbus Day.

Tuesday, November 11th

The library will be closed for Veterans' Day.

Thursday and Friday, November 27th & 28th

The library will be closed for Thanksgiving and the following day.


Extended hours by appointment

The library is now available for evening hours by appointment. We will be happy to schedule your request to start or continue your research after our regular hours until 7:00 PM, Monday through Thursday. We ask that you contact us at least a week in advance to arrange your after hours stay or visit. We will need your name, phone number, email, as well as your area of study and which, if any, archival materials you intend to request.

Contact Claudette Newhall or call 617-523-0470 ext. 1 to arrange the date and time for your visit. You will be notified if we are able to accommodate your request.

    Congregational History Mini Course:
    "Growing Our Roots Deeper: Exploring the Congregational Christian Tradition"

    Tuesdays, October 14th, 21st & 28th

    Library Director Peggy Bendroth will be teaching a five-week course, offering an in-depth exploration of the American Congregational Christian tradition, from its Puritan roots to the denominational merger which created the United Church of Christ in 1957.     Congregational Boston walking tours

    By reservation

    Take an educational walk in the Summer sun. Peggy Bendroth will be leading tours of notable Congregational places (of which there are many) in Boston's historic Back Bay and Beacon Hill neighborhoods. See our Program and Workshop Schedule for more information.


    Library Tours

    The Library now offers tours on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 2 PM. If you're going to be in town on any of the following dates, come on by and let us show you around.
