Notice warning concerning copyright restrictions The copyright law of the United States (title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law. |
Plain English version: If the material you want is protected by copyright, you cannot reproduce it or use it for any purpose other than research, unless granted specific permission by the copyright holder. In most cases, that isn't us.
Send requests to publish to the archivist or librarian of the Congregational Library.
Credit line: Courtesy of the Congregational Library, Boston, Massachusetts (collection name, record group/mss. number and/or item identification, if available).
Permission is granted for one-time use only. Pictorial material may not be reused without the written permission of the Congregational Library.
Collections for which the Library does not hold copyright, permission must also be obtained from the holder(s) of this right.
If any negatives are produced in the process of publishing, they must be given to the Library.
